The trick, then, is to dismiss things your character can not utilize or are of reduced value. Item rarity is indicated by colours: White: Norma,Blue: Magic,Yellow: Rare, Orange: Particular.
You can pretty much ignore white items unless you're about to head back to town and have the room to spare for them. Rarer items are usually worth picking up and promoting, even if you have to hold onto them for a more guide short time. And needless to say, any product that appears better than your current equipment is worth grabbing -- even in the event that you need to drop something else temporarily while you equip it.
